Mike and Mindy Alex-September 2010

Mike and Mindy Alex

September 4, 2010

Mike and I met through mutual friends at Tri-City Speedway in the summer of 2008. We both had noticed each other but neither one spoke up. Finally friends decided to have us to exchange phone numbers and we went to Foxtales restaurant/bar on our first date on Aug 20, 2008. After dating for 8 months, Mike took me on a four wheeler ride to a beautiful spot we call Hilltop. It was there he proposed and I said “Yes!!!” Both being from the area and currently living in Venango County there was no doubt that we wanted to have our wedding here at home. We were married on September 4, 2010 at Seneca United Methodist Church by Reverend Robert Wilson. Mike is a volunteer firefighter with the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department so naturally we chose their hall as our reception location and we were even driven from the church to the reception in Seneca’s new firetruck. My matron of honor and four bridesmaids wore royal blue chiffon dresses from Nicole’s Bridal and carried a bouquet of gerbera daisies each in a different shade done by Bloomingails. We also had a few firefighter accents as a tribute to my firefighter groom throughout the wedding. We chose a two line buffet by Classy Catering and had Tammy Black do a cake made of red velvet which we cut with a fireman’s axe. We also had mini cupcakes made in chocolate and white cake so our guests could choose their flavor. One of the most special moments of my wedding day was my dad walking me down the aisle and being able to do the father/daughter dance with me. He had a stroke in Feb 2010 and wasn’t able to move his right side let alone walk. He worked very hard to be able to walk me and dance with me. It was a very special moment for me and our whole family.
