Brian and Juanet Shefchunas-October 20, 2010

Brian and I worked together for several years and became really great friends. After a significant change in my life, the opportunity for us to become more presented itself and we have been inseparable ever since.  While vacationing in Topsail Island Brian proposed during a sunset walk on the beach.  He said he found a shell for me and I instantly thought it was a conch shell since I had been looking for one all week.   Instead it was a porcelain shell with my engagement ring inside, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.  We decided to have a destination wedding and come home to a big reception.  We were married October 20, 2010 at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica.  It was just the two of us and was absolutely beautiful and amazing. We planned on having it on the shoreline, however it was raining and we were forced to move the ceremony to a balcony above the lobby of the resort  which was beautiful anyways.  After our wedding ceremony, we were waiting underneath a beach tiki-bar for the rain to slow down and as we were sitting there, the bartender said since it was our wedding day, we needed to have a shot. We watched him mix this crazy concoction called a “Bob Marley.”  It was layered red, yellow, green, and white and took him ten minutes to make it. We had never seen anything like it. It was the most potent beverage we have ever tasted, but it made taking pictures in the rain lots of fun.  We came home and the following weekend held our reception at the Seneca Fire Hall.  We had a wonderful reception catered by Karen Lutz.  Vincent Entertainment DJ’ed the event and we danced our first dance to “Guardian Angel” Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.  The combination of the destination wedding and at home reception made our wedding both romantic and unforgettable.  We wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!
